Moissanites are the ideal alternative to a diamond. They are almost colorless gemstones (D color) with a hardness of 9.25 on the Mohs scale. Moissanite is harder than all other gemstones (ruby, emerald, sapphire, etc.), ranking #2 after diamond (10 on the Mohs scale).
Moissanites have a refractive index (RI) of 2.65, which is higher than that of a diamond (2.42).
